Increasing Physical Health

According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, less than 5% of adults participate in at least 30 minutes of their day engaging in physical activity. Only one in three children are physically active every day.  It is our desire to encourage the benefits of physical activity by promoting and coordinating running events across the state. Hosting 5k’s for the family brings about a sense of unity within the family and has the potential to build unbreakable bonds, create memories, increase communication, and maximize quality time spent together. 

Mental Wellness

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness, that’s roughly 46.6 million adults. Many of these adults are mothers and fathers raising children in environments that are often times, hostile, cold, dismissive, and in many cases physically and mentally abusive. Imagine for a moment being a child growing up in such an environment and the lasting ramifications and impressions that are left with that child.

As a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, it is my desire to offer mental health counseling services to these individuals in hopes of equipping them with healthy coping techniques and strategies to mend broken lines of communication within the family; with an ultimate goal of assisting families in crisis with creative strategies to bring about a sense of cohesiveness within the family unit.

Financial Literacy

The average American has over $38,000 in personal debt. Sixty percent of Americans do not have enough in their savings to pay for a $1000 emergency. Individuals who have poor spending habits tend to go into debt early and spend a lifetime trying to get out, and unfortunately are not knowledgeable of good stewardship practices or lack clear understanding of how to manage their money verse allowing their money to manage them. It is the F.A.C.T.S mission to close the financial literacy gap for households, by educating young people as well as adults on the principles of how money works and offer strategies on debt management, which will ultimately lead individuals to live financially debt free lives.
