FACTS (Families Are Coming Together Strong), Inc. is a nonprofit organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s ordained order into action by providing free financial literacy, mental health counseling, and family oriented physical activities to restore the family dynamics and bring about a sense of shared confidence and unity within the family and the community at large. Interns will be provided with learning opportunities and gain experience in a multitude of settings.

This is how you will spend your days:
- Write and submit grant proposals to funding agencies, organizations, and foundations.
- Perform in-depth research and identify funding opportunities from tribal, public (state and federal), private, and individual sources.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of potential funding sources; utilize professional judgement in identifying and determining appropriate funding opportunities; draft, edit and submit new proposals and applications.
- Develop and maintain a grants/contract database/reporting system to ensure a high level of organization and structure.
- Maintain a current and accurate database of demographics, facts, information, and references which may be used by the organization to develop funding proposals, strategic plans, or make decisions on its activity which will lead to increased value to FACTS.
- Work with Project Manager and Director to develop projects and resources which support the organizational mission, goals, and objectives outlined in its long and short term strategic plan and identify complementary funding sources which will support the creation of the projects and resources.
- Provide regular (monthly, quarterly, annual) progress reports on grant related activities.
- Work with the Director to develop a plan for optimum use of the organization’s resources, for financial management of awarded grants, contracts, and contributions, and ensure compliance with any funding rules, requirements, or restrictions. This includes promoting timely and accurate progress and financial reports to grantors.
To be successful in this role, this position requires:
- One year of grant writing, nonprofit experience and/or writing experience.
- At least 3-5 years of increasingly responsible positions in grant writing and familiarity with grant writing and familiarity with federal grant programs, foundations and corporate contributors.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable using a computer.
- Knowledgeable of various software programs such as Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Exceptional written and verbal skills.
- Be a creative thinker and a self-starter who takes initiative.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must have a desire to work with diverse people and groups, and have the ability to be diplomatic.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Develop self-awareness as it relates to attitude, values, and behavior patterns that influence work.
- Must have demonstrable ability to work with people from diverse cultures including cultural sensitivity
